Early Summer Slip Bobbers

Late spring and early summer is a perfect time to get out the slip bobbers.  One of the most effective ways to work tight areas of structure for big big fish.  This technique is often overlooked by tournament anglers due to it's slow pace, but this versatile way of fishing can be ultra productive.  A perfect way to keep your kids interested in fishing and one of the best dead stick presentations on the planet.  Everything slip bobbers.

The Next Level...Early Shallow Eyes

Mid May and most seasons are open and it's time to start Walleye hunting.  Charge your batteries and hook up your boats it's time to chase some early shallow EYES!  Walleye guys across the country overlook and under value heavy cover in shallow water when hunting big Walleyes.  It's a crime if you don't find those areas in the lakes and reservoirs near you where there is an abundance of weeds or wood in a few feet of water and you don't go hammer the Walleye.  In this episode we go into everything shallow for late spring and early summer.  We talk equipment and what works.  We talk location and baits.  We love early shallow Eyes.  

Spring Transition

Open water is here and the Walleye are moving away from the rivers and the spawning grounds and starting to school up and transition into the early summer pattern.  Fish are scattered and on the move.  Here today and no where to be found tomorrow.  Big fish can be tough to find unless you are fishing early morning or the night bite.  You need to transition how you fish and where you fish.  Not only daily but sometimes hourly.  How you catch fish at 7 am may not be how you catch fish at 1 pm.  Live bait may not be the best presentation this time of year.  Fish are hungry and reaction strikes can produce more fish then you might think.  Don't miss this episode.

The Next Level...Confidence

Boat Rigging

Rigging your boat is highly personal.  A bracket here and a rod holder there.  It is all about personal feel and what you have seen others do.  Due to popular requests we go into how we rig our boats now and how we have rigged old boats.  We rig our boats to be efficient and and to store what we need.  We like open space free of hazards and we use that to fish at night and in tough weather conditions.  Lets talk rigging boats.   

The Next Level...Reaction Strike With Steve and Brooks Tyser

In this Next Bite we continue with the idea of making them bite.  We have Josh's tournament teammates from the Wyoming Walleye Stampede as our guests.  Steve and Brooks Tyser are a father/son team who have been fishing Walleye tournaments for years together and Brooks started the College Bass team at University of Wyoming.  We all got together and discussed being aggressive with Walleye and how to make them bite.  We talk about the similarities between Bass fishing and using those Bass tactics to catch more and bigger Walleye.  A lot of fishing knowledge and experience between the five of us for this great Next Level episode.     

Make 'em Bite/More Reaction Strike

As Walleye fishing and Walleye anglers continue to grow and expand their sometimes old school thought processes, more and more Walleye anglers are starting to resemble bass anglers.  Multiple rods used to optimize the number of baits that hit the water in a given area.  Aggressive shallow water tactics and less live bait produce more tournament wins then the traditional live bait presentations.  In this episode we talk reaction strikes and what that means.  How to go out and make them bite.  We need to stop coaxing Walleyes to bite and we need to fish for active Walleyes that are actively feeding.  This conversation gets carried over in tomorrows release of the Next Level where we are joined by Josh's tournament team mates Steve and Brooks Tyser and we continue to discuss reaction strikes!
