The fall feed bag is starting and trophy Eyes will be in high demand.  Reservoir systems can be tricky with changing water levels and the big lakes rely on the wind and changing water temps.  It's all about finding the abundant bait in the lake and making them bite.

It's hot and the fish aren't biting!  You can't get them to bite anything you threw a month ago.  You see them on your graph but they just aren't hungry.  WRONG!  Not only are they hungry but they are feeding constantly.  Chances are you aren't looking in the right place and you aren't a very good competitor.  You are competing with mother nature and in a healthy lake you are a 7th round draft pick looking to make the team.  You GOTTA MAKE EM BITE.

Late spring and early summer provide Walleye anglers with a great opportunity to find those hungry eyes in new weed growth or high water areas.  Looking for eyes in vegetation and timber is most often over looked by Walleye anglers, but it can be the best place to find those big eyes.  Don't be afraid to go shallow.  Two feet or less can lead to 30 pound days!

Spring Cover

Game on!  Seasons are open and the fish are moving out of the rivers back into the lakes and are ready to start doing some serious feeding.  Reservoir fish are sliding off spawning areas and starting to move to secondary points and push back into shallow bays.  Bait fish are giving each other fishy eyes and thinking about spawning.  As the Walleyes transition into their early summer patterns it's time to start fishing cover!
