Size is a part of the daily puzzle when it comes to being consistent.  The time of year, water temperature, visibility and many other factors come into consideration when you are deciding if today those fish want a 3' bait or a 5' bait.  On the ice or open water, the size of your bait and the profile can be the biggest factor to consistently catching fish.
