Next Level Tournament Prep

It's early season and the holidays are over.  Time to start looking at your equipment and getting ready for that first tournament.  Now is the time to check everything on your boat and start to order replacement fishing gear.  Make sure everything works so if repairs are needed you have plenty of time to get parts ordered and the repairs done.  Evaluate your tournament schedule and start your research into the lakes listed on your schedule.  Good preparation breeds success.   

ICE ICE Baby

It's that time of year.  The boats are all snug in their beds with visions of hard water dancing in your head.  The ice houses are all set up with care in hopes Mr. Walleye will soon be there.  Now on Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Chevy, Nissan and GM but don't get to crazy the ice isn't quite thick enough yet.  Early ice and where to start looking! 

Custom Painted Colors vs. Stock

Let the debate begin!  Custom painted baits vs. Stock out of the package beauties.  There is a definite art form to painting custom baits and some look like fish catching machines, but the question and the debate comes down to...do custom baits catch more fish?  I know they catch more fisherman.  Are they worth the extra money?  We discuss our thoughts on custom baits and what we think is overkill and what seems to be the perfect extra touch.

Favorite Fall Fishing

We all have that favorite story of heading to the lake in the fall to test your luck one last time before ice forms and you get into them.  Maybe that trip wasn't about catching big fish or a bunch of fish, maybe that trip was with someone you may never get to take fishing again.  In this weeks episode we recall some of our favorite fall fishing memories and the meaning they have for us.   

Fall Slabbing

Nope...not talking about filling your freezer.  Even though that maybe what happens.  We are talking heavy metal!  Not the "Motor City Mad Man" or Metallica, but jigging spoons and glide baits.  Heavy baits that work well when fished vertically during the fall and early winter.  They come in all different shapes, sizes and colors, but one thing is for sure...they produce fish!
